Aegean Blue

LOCATION: NEW OCEAN WORLD FINE FOOD CITY, PETALING JAYA

RESTAURANT

Aegean Blue is a restaurant offering authentic Greek cuisine in a setting that beautifully captures the spirit of Greece. Drawing inspiration from the Temple of Apollo, the restaurant’s design features a serene palette of white-washed sand tones that permeates the entire space. The high, gracefully curved ceiling, inspired by the elegance of ancient Greek armour, is crafted from a mesh of metal cable rods, creating an ethereal effect reminiscent of sunlight streaming through a tunnel. This unique ceiling design transports guests into a mystical realm of peace and serenity.

The essence of Apollo, the God of the Sun, is woven throughout the space with strategically placed lighting and subtle design elements that evoke the warmth and brilliance of sunlight. At the restaurant’s entrance, light projections from the ceiling illuminate a striking image of Apollo, setting the tone for an excellent dining experience.

Apollo, known by many names, is revered as a god of archery, the sun and light, healing, poetry, music, and dance. Reflecting this, one of the open spaces can also be transformed into a 10-seater private room with retractable walls, offering guests the option to host small parties or meetings. Aegean Blue pays tribute to his temple by using various textured walls to recreate its look and feel.

One of the centrepieces of this restaurant is Apollo’s statue that is located at the end of the restaurant, where he stands tall and strong for the crowd. While the other is the harp that is located at the entrance of the restaurant, immediately setting the calm tone that this restaurant has to offer. The uniformity of this interior space plays a vital role in bringing in a cool and calm vibe to the restaurant. One that depicts that nothing is out of place and everything is where it should be.
